What Companies and What Challenges?

Companies I can help: AI-native B2B software companies at pre-seed and seed, particularly ones selling into enterprise buyers who move slowly and buy on trust Frontier technology companies coming out of university labs, especially quantum, advanced computing, and applied research that needs a commercial wrapper Technical founding teams with strong IP and no commercial motion yet Companies preparing to raise a first institutional round, or ones that have raised and are now stuck between seed and Series A HR technology, recruiting technology, and workforce software, which is where I built and sold a company Fintech and crypto infrastructure companies, particularly around exchange mechanics, trading systems, and regulatory posture

Network

Where my network is strongest Canadian venture capital. I know most of the active seed and Series A funds in Toronto, Waterloo, Montreal, and Vancouver, and I know the partners rather than the general inbox. Creative Destruction Lab, where I mentor in the Quantum stream and Web3 Streams, NEXT Canada, where I am an alum and mentor, the Institute for Quantum Computing, and Quantum Valley. Enterprise HR technology and talent. I know the buyers, the operators, and the acquirers. AI and quantum research and commercialization. Founders, researchers, and investors working at the applied end of both. Fintech and crypto infrastructure. From building one of Canada's first Bitcoin companies and an algorithmic trading business. Corporate development and strategic acquirers. I have been through an acquisition as a founder and then worked inside the acquirer, which is a useful vantage point on both sides. Connections I can make: Warm introductions to seed and Series A investors where I know the partner personally and genuinely believe the company is a fit for their thesis and stage Introductions to potential enterprise customers and design partners, particularly in HR technology, talent, and enterprise software Introductions to operators for advice, hiring, or diligence support, including engineering leaders, product leaders, and CFOs Introductions into CDL, NEXT Canada, and other programs where I can speak credibly about a company Introductions to service providers I have used and trust, including fund and startup counsel, accountants, and fund administrators How I work I make introductions I would stand behind. That means I will spend time with a company first. If I do not have conviction I will say so directly rather than send a lukewarm email that helps nobody. I will not do blind forwards, and I do not introduce founders to my own LPs. My network is broader than any list I can write here, and the useful connection is often two degrees out rather than one.
