Biography

Matthew is the president and founder of CEMG Ltd, where he serves as a fractional commercial/growth lead for companies in regulated and complex manufacturing environments. He works with businesses that are growing, stalling, or rebuilding, typically start-ups through mid-market firms. His operating premise: building revenue-driving systems alongside a client's team and remaining embedded until they work in practice. He is known for translating technical risk and constraints into proposals, pricing and partnerships, and for working along side operations, technical services, quality and finance, rather than around them. Matthew brings over twenty years of commercial leadership across the life sciences and industrial sectors. Most recently he spent sixteen years with The Camfil Group (HQ in Stockholm) air filtration tech leader, concluding as Vice President, Business Development & Innovation, Global. In that role he held P&L responsibility for the group's global life science and healthcare focus business and led innovation strategy including partnership development, M&A valuation and execution, working through a matrix team of forty. Earlier, he held multiple business development and strategic roles across the Americas. Before Camfil, he held key commercial roles at Roche Pharmaceuticals (Diagnostics and Applied Science) and Thermo Fisher Scientific. Since founding CEMG, he has delivered sales leadership that took two businesses to three to five times their prior annual revenue, and helped a start-up secure its first routine customers and a second funding round at a $26M valuation. Matthew completed his Cornell/Queen's Executive MBA in 2021 while simultaneously managing two international business development teams, and holds a BSc in Biochemistry from McMaster University. He serves as board advisor for two early stage start-ups, has served as a Board Director of ISPE's Canada Affiliate and speaks English natively, with conversational French and Spanish.
