Biography
Charmaine knew she wanted to be an accountant from the age of eight. What she didn’t know then was where that decision would take her. Her career started in public accounting, where she built the technical foundation that still anchors how she thinks about business. She then moved into industry and learned how businesses actually operate from the shop floor through to the executive table. Over the course of her career, she has worked with companies through commercialization, rapid growth, transformation and increasing complexity, scaling businesses ranging from $80M to $500M across Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Her role has never been “just finance.” She operates where capital, operations, commercial strategy and leadership come together. She has spent much of her career helping leadership teams see the connections between those areas, break down silos and turn strategy into something the organization can actually execute. One lesson has stayed with her: you don’t need to build everything at once. As a company grows, knowing when to add structure and when not to can be just as important as knowing what to build. Charmaine believes founders don’t need to become finance experts to build financially sound businesses. She takes complex business issues and makes them easy to understand for everyone around the table. She then turns that understanding into clear priorities and practical steps the business can act on. Her mandate is simple: bring clarity, build discipline, and put the right foundation underneath the ambition. Secure the runway. Anchor the systems. Let growth breathe.
