Biography
Alex has experience in engineering products for manufacturing and holds a master's degree in engineering. He currently works as a product manager at Epson where he works on four different projects in the robotics space. He is also very versed in building a business case, doing primary and secondary market research. He has experience getting in the trenches and working at a startup as he was the previous CTO at Longan Vision (developing an AR/VR heads-up display for firefighters) where he was in charge of designing for manufacturing. Alex has led many small teams to design and build hardware, driven huge equipment in the oil sands, worked as an architectural assistant, completed a master’s degree in engineering, fully gutted and renovated a house from permits to completion by himself and recently started his second business called Longan Vision. Longan Vision was started in 2018 with four co-founders with a goal of designing augmented reality systems for Fire Fighting from the ground up. Alex was key in easing more then 2.5 million dollars in funding and was responsible for product development. Alex Left Longan Vision in 2022 to the transition to business and product strategy at Epson R&D. Alex is a motivated individual with a strong passion for automation technology and solutions. He enjoys metal working, carpentry and hobby electronics
